Broken Bones

We had our first broken bone in our house. 10 years with 4 boys and no broken bones, I would say we are pretty lucky.  Dredyn our adventurous and wild child broke that streak. He was helping Matt wire a basement and decided to hang from the floor joist and fell catching himself with his wrist instead of his feet. He broke his wrist right at his growth plate. He has been in a cast for the last eight weeks with x rays every two weeks to make sure his growth plate is healing right and then x rays for every two weeks for the next year to check his growth plate. Oh how we love that wild child of ours.

Waiting in the Insta care

The doctor at the Insta care couldn't reset his wrist because of where he broke it. So we were sent to the E.R. to see an Orthopedic Surgeon.
Waiting in the E.R. for three hours
This tough kid never cried once. Not one single tear the whole time.

Getting his wrist reset.

They put him under to reset his wrist and this was after they were all done

Getting his first long armed cast

Two weeks later he went to a pink short armed cast

Two weeks after that he went to a short red cast

And finally for the last two weeks he is in a brace.
