Our little Diesel man is 4 months old today. I don't even know where to begin with this little man. I have an overwhelming love for this child and at the same time I feel so overwhelmed with him. He is by far my hardest baby yet. He likes to cry alot and if I am not holding him he lets me have it. Even when I hold him he likes to cry. He is getting better but I had no idea that a baby could cry so much. With Matt being gone so much it is a good thing my mom is around or I honestly would have lost my mind a long time ago. Even though he likes to cry he is also the sweetest little thing. I love to go into his room in the morning and see his big smile when he sees me. It melts my heart and I actually look forward to it, even if it is at 6:00 a.m. He loves his brothers. The second he hears them or sees them his little hands and feet start going crazy and he gets the biggest grin on his face, it is so adorable. His little jibber jabber is so cute and fun to hear. He is almost rolling and laughing and we are practicing on sitting. Oh and how could I forget to mention his blue eyes, aren't those puppies to die for. I just love them.

Christmas was so fun this year. Brodyn and Dredyn are at an age where every holiday is so exciting for them. I love to see the joy in their faces and to hear their little giggles when they get excited. We were excited to actually be home this year in our own house, close to our families. Christmas Eve was spent at my parents house, Christmas day lunch was at Matts parents house then it was back to my parents for a little Christmas dinner and then finally home to enjoy the loads of toys that Santa brought. Christmas is always a very busy holiday but I am glad that we had time to take off to Salt Lake and show our kids temple square and be able to teach them the real meaning of Christmas.

I am sad that the Christmas Holiday is over. I love the spirit that it brings into our home and all the celebrating that we get to do, but I am excited for 2012 and to see what the year has to bring us.

The festive fun has begun at our house. A Gingerbread house is the first of many fun activities I have planned for this holiday season. I love that the house came put together and all the boys had to do was put some frosting on and decorate. They had a blast but I think they enjoyed eating the candy more.

It is hard to believe that 6 years ago this little guy joined our family. Time sure does go by fast and it is not slowing down. Here are 6 fun facts about this handsome little man.

1. Brodyn has never lived in the same house for any birthday!

2. Brodyn has lived in Nevada, Utah, Missouri, Idaho and Puerto Rico.

3. Brodyn is one sensitive little boy.

4. Brodyn is the best big brother ever. He is always making sure his little brothers are happy.

5. Brodyn comes up with the funniest sayings and always says little things that make us laugh.

6. Brodyn wants to be a cop when he grows up (At least today he does).

Thanksgiving

There is so much to be thankful for this thanksgiving.

1- Most important Matt. Where would I be with out my wonderful husband. He would do anything and does everything for our family. He is such a hard worker, a great father and my best friend. I love you Matt.

2- Matts job, which I hate because he is away so much but it allows us to live comfortably and I can spoil my kids rotten.

3- Our newest addition to our family Diesel, I couldn't imagine our life with him and now I can't imagine life without him.

4- Of course Brodyn and Dredyn, How did I get so lucky to have the opportuntiy to be the mother of three wonderful little boys.

5- A warm house, a car to drive, food to eat, clothes to wear, toys to play with, everything that we take for granted that others only dream of having.

6- The gospel, for without it I would be lost and I believe Matt would be to. We have relied on prayer a ton this year and I think everything that Matt and I were worried about has work out for us for the best.

There is so much more and I could go on forever.

Brodyn had a little Thanksgiving program at school. I found myself getting teary eyed and I felt so stupid. Time is going by so fast and my kids are growing so fast. I never thought I would be the parent that always cried but man I get so emotional when it comes to my kids.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at Tim and Wendis new house. The night was full of food, laughter and fun.

Getting ready for Black Friday. To bad I didn't go this year but don't worry I had fun doing my shopping online. No crowds and no cold weather.

My grandparents came down from Montana this year. It has been at least two years since I have seen them. It was nice being able to visit and have my kids get to know them.

This year for Halloween we were so excited to be back in Rexburg and even more excited to actually be able to go trick- or- treating. We went to Brittanys school carnival, Brodyns school carnival and ended the fun with trick- or- treating. It was a long weekend but I love to see my kids get so excited and have fun.

Matt blessed Diesel on the 13th of November, he did such an amazing job. I got a little teary eyed listening to the blessings that Matt gave Diesel. I am so grateful to have a husband who can hold our children in his arms and bless them as a member of our church. We had a ton of family that came to support our sweet little Diesel. He is one lucky guy to have so many fantastic aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents.

Our life has been a crazy whirlwind lately. We have moved yet again, this time back to Rexburg. We are excited to be back around our families but we miss Las Vegas a lot. We currently are living out of suitcases and boxes at my parents house. Only two more weeks and the house we are going to move into will be ready. Diesel is growing so fast and is getting so big. He no longer is my sweet little quiet baby, he cries all morning, sleeps all afternoon and cries all night. Its a good thing I have my mom to help me out or I would be a basket case. Even though he has been my hardest baby yet, we still can't get enough of him. Dredyn has been a little monster since Diesel was born. He loves to help to much and loves to make even bigger messes when he is not helping with Diesel. He tries Matt and I's patience to the end but between all his time outs, messes and crying he still manages to melt our hearts with his unexpected endless kisses and hugs. Brodyn is finally getting use to his new school and will finally stand in line without me having to be right next to him. This is a huge improvement for him. He is making new friends and has his cousin Adrie in his class. He still is a huge help with Diesel and Dredyn and with not having Matt around he is my saving grace. Our life is definitely crazy but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Diesel is 7 weeks already

He has the prettiest blue eyes and we are hoping they stay that way.
Before Matt left we took the kids bowling. It has been hard having Matt gone so much especially on Brodyn but its a blessing that he has a good paying job, I am trying not to complain and count all the blessings we have gotten and will continue to get. Everything has just fallen into place and I know everything will work out.

Of course we had to carve pumpkins.

We only had one little mishap while carving pumpkins. Poor little Dredyn got stung by a bee not once but twice.
Hopefully our lives settle down and we can get back on a routine but for now we are enjoying be home.

We started out Saturday September 3rd, just like any other Saturday, sleeping in, cleaning, being lazy. Wendi called and asked Matt and I to go to dinner and a movie with her and Tim, I was having little contractions nothing big or anything to worry about. I had been having contractions all week. I was in the hospital all day Sunday August 28th with contractions and they sent me home with medicine and orders to take it easy. So I took it easy all week and figured that Matt and I needed a break from the kids and I even told Matt that this may be our last date for awhile. So we went to dinner and I felt great, once we got to the movie my contractions started to pick up, I started to time them and they were every two minutes for about an hour and then they would stop and then pick up again. After the movie I told Matt that we needed to go to the hospital and just get checked out. We got up to the hospital and they monitored me for about half an hour and then the nurse came in and said you are going to have a baby in 45 minutes. I'm not going to lie I was just a little nervous, okay I couldn't stop shaking I was so nervous. They then told me that my doctor was off for the weekend which made me even more nervous. I had the best doctor ever and he even came in on his weekend off to deliver my baby. The nurses came and got me all ready and prepped for my c-section and on September 4th, at 12:44 a.m. our little man was born.

I had really high hopes that he wouldn't be in the NICU. The nurses even told me that we were going to stop and get the baby out of the Special care Nursery as we were heading to my room. I was so excited and nervous again. I had never had one of my kids in my room with me. But Diesel had other plans and decided he didn't want to breath, so he ended up in the NICU.

Diesel actually got to come home with us. He is the first baby that we have been able to take home with us. When the nurse told me that he was coming with us I didn't know whether I wanted to cry from excited that he got to come home or panic because I had never had a baby at home with me for at least the first two weeks.

My mom was amazing and did all my housework, laundry, cooked, took Brodyn to school, entertained my kids all day and got up with Diesel at night so I could sleep. She even watched all three of our kids so Matt and I could go out on a date. I miss her a lot and I can't thank her enough for dropping everything and flying out the last minute to help me. I feel so lost without her. I can't wait for her to come back in a week. I love you mom, you are amazing, thank you for everything.

We are just loving having Diesel here. He is such a good baby. He only cries when he is hungry and I just adore his cry. His hands and feet are Matt to a tee. Brodyn and Dredyn are such big helpers and love their baby brother to pieces. I love the little moments that I get with him to just snuggle and kiss him. He is growing so fast and I can't believe that he is already two weeks old and almost 8 lbs.

Brodyns first day of Kindergarten

Why does having a child go to kindergarten make you feel so old? Brodyn was really excited to start school and then we pulled into the school and he was crying before we even shut the car off. Matt had to push Brodyn into his classroom, his teacher had to grab him as he tried to follow Matt out and all I could hear was hysterical crying. His poor teacher. On a good note though, when we picked Brodyn up he said he only cried for a minute and he loves kindergarten. He said he is not going to cry anymore because it is way funner then preschool. Lets keep our fingers crossed that this is true.

We had to wait outside for his teacher to come get him. 107 degrees and a crying child... not so fun.

A few weeks ago we went swimming at Tim's sisters house. My kids were in heaven. They loved the waterfall, the slide, and the ledge they got to jump from. It is a good thing they are little fish but I think they may be a little to comfortable with the water. Brodyn was doing flips off the ledge by the time we left. And yes I even enjoyed myself on the slide but being huge and almost ready to have a baby there will be no pictures of me.

Today

Three years ago today we welcomed this little boy into our family 5 weeks early. He is as strong today as he was 3 years ago. He loves baseball, not a day goes by that we don't play baseball in our household. He is so independent and has to try to do almost everything on his own. He is a daddy's boy during the day and a mommy's boy by night. He loves Brodyn and looks up to him and has to copy everything that Brodyn does. He is sweet, loving, funny, independent, caring, and we love all the kisses he loves to give us. HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY DREDYN. We love you.

Tim and Wendi invited us out boating a couple of weeks ago. Its nice living somewhere where the weather allows you to boat more than 2 months out of the year. Being very pregnant and not being able to tube or wake board makes it a little boring but to watch my kids and Matt it is worth it. There is always next year anyways. Oh ya did I mention that it is also a perk to finally have Tim and Wendi living in Vegas with us so we can go boating ;)

30 Weeks

Is it possible to already be 30 weeks along? I can't believe how fast time is going. I am actually measuring a week ahead so 31 weeks and if by some chance he doesn't come early my doctor will deliver him two weeks early so we really only have 7 weeks to go. There are times I want to cry when I think about how soon he will be here. I'm not sure how I am going to handle 3 boys, but at the same time I catch myself walking into his room and just staring at his crib, blankets and clothes wishing he was already occupying them. So many emotions and so much excitement!!

30 weeks

Brodyn and Dredyn are so excited for their little brother to join our family. They are so cute and always give my belly kisses and hugs and when he kicks and they feel it, their eyes light up with so much excitement.

4th of July

We spent the 4th of July in Idaho this year and we loved celebrating with our families. We had the annual Mortensen reunion with lots of yummy food and softball game. We went to the Rexburg parade, had a BBQ and enjoyed the Idaho Falls fireworks.

This little man Tanner was not a happy camper with me. For some reason he didn't like me this day and I ask him if I could take his picture and this is the face he gave me.
Every year we go to a school just off the freeway to watch the fireworks. We have a little BBQ, the kids play on the toys and we just relax for hours before the fireworks start.

It is so fun to be able to celebrate such a wonderful holiday with such an amazing father. Matt is exactly the type of dad I wanted for our boys. He is loving, patient, fun, a great teacher and a even better example. He has such a hard work ethic and I know he has no idea how much the boys and I truly appreciate everything he does for us. I'm grateful for his strong testimony of the gospel and love to hear him answer all of Brodyns many questions about the gospel. It's because of this wonderful Man that we get to call daddy that we can be together for eternity. We love you Matt.

The boys and I had the chance to go to Idaho for 2 weeks and it was just the vacation we... okay I needed. Yes I have been away from home for a long time but there will never be a place like home. I love having my dad and mom around, not having to cook dinner, having lots of cousins to entertain my kids and just relaxing.

It was nice to be able to chill outside at night and visit and watch the boys play without dieing of heat.

Brodyn had his first basketball game last weekend and I have no idea how the coaches do it but I'm guessing it takes a lot of patience. Even though none of the kids had any idea what was going on it was fun to watch and I think every parent in the room had a good laugh. Brodyn was able to score a point for his team and was pretty excited about it. It will be fun to see Brodyn and his teammates improve as the season goes on.

Brodyn finished his baseball season a few weeks ago. He had so much fun playing baseball and I can't wait for next year to be able to watch him again. He never had to use the Tee and his coach said that he has a great arm. Bring on the kid pitch because Brodyn is ready.

Brodyn graduated from preschool last week. I honestly didn't know if this day would ever come. He struggled a little bit at first leaving me and being alone but by the end he had that mastered and he says that he is going to miss preschool but is excited to start kindergarten.

I swear it was an answer to my prayers. Miss Shannon was so nice and Brodyn learned alot. I will definitely be putting Dredyn in when he is old enough.

We had a chance to go to Utah a couple of weeks ago and sadly it will probably be one of the last we make to Utah. Because these crazies are moving to Vegas and I am so excited.
One of our stops of course had to be to the Smiths. We lived by these guys in Layton and they were the best neighbors ever. My boys loved them and miss them a lot.

There is no doubt this time. We are 100% sure we are welcoming another little BOY into our family. He was not shy by any means as you can tell from the first picture below. I am not going to lie I was a little sad and maybe even shed a tear or two but the more I think about it the more excited I get and I can't wait for this little guy to join our family. The specialists that I am seeing said that everything looks really good, he has a good heart beat, weighs 12 ounces and is almost 7 inches long. Happy and healthy is what we want. Brodyn is super excited to have another little brother and wants to name him batman. Dredyn I don't think really knows what is going on but says we should name him "me", which I am guessing translates to Dredyn. We haven't thought of a name yet but we are tossing names around.

Easter 2011

Saturday morning our ward had a breakfast and Easter egg hunt at the bishops house, the boys had a blast running around and finding eggs. The only thing the boys missed was seeing the Easter bunny. I told Brodyn that the Easter bunny couldn't come to every Easter egg hunt because there were a lot of Easter egg hunts, so the Easter bunny could only pick a few. Brodyn was really fun this year and is starting to actually understand why we celebrate Easter. He has so many questions and it is nice to hear him tell Dredyn about what he learned in primary and why we celebrate Easter. It is so hard to not be around family during the holidays but we are learning to deal with it. We are loving being able to have our own little family traditions and not have to hurry from house to house. We missed our families a lot but the memories we are making with our boys are even more meaningful to us.

17 Weeks

This is the First pregnancy picture with this baby. More then likely I am already half way there but we are hoping to do everything and anything to keep this baby inside for as long as possible. I was visiting my doctor every two weeks but now I am going every three weeks, I am also seeing a Dietitian and a specialist for high risk pregnancy. So hopefully between the three of them we can work and figure out how to keep this baby in long enough to be able to bring it home with us. We hopefully will be able to find out if Brodyn and Dredyn will be getting a brother or sister in 2 weeks. This pregnancy has been totally opposite then my other two: I take double the insulin with this one, with my other two my insulin cute in half, I am always tired and have no motivation to do anything. My poor kids and house and to think I still have 23 weeks of no motivation to go. I already pulled my maternity bin out (this happened at about 12 weeks) sad I now. I use to love Diet coke but now I can not stand the taste of it, unless it is from the fountain, so maybe just maybe this pregnancy will cure my diet coke addiction. I haven't really had any cravings but hey I still have 23 weeks. I am happy to say that I have only gained 4 pds. so far, I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can keep the weight gain at a slow pace. The time is going by so fast and we are so excited to welcome another little one into our family. Brodyn is so excited to have a little baby in the family and he is going to be a huge help, Dredyn I don't think really understands what is going on. Now if we could only find a house we want to buy and get settled before to long.

Our Western Caribbaen Cruise

Matt and I had the opportunity to go on a cruise a couple of weeks ago. It was a much needed vacation (especially for me;)), no for both of us. Our cruise included, Honduras, Belize, Costa Maya and Key West. It was so nice to not have to worry about cooking, cleaning, breaking up fights but most of all it was nice to have Matt all alone, no work and no phone!!!

The boys and I flew to Idaho on Friday April 8th. About 30 minutes after getting to my parents, I said goodbye to our boys and headed back to Utah with Wendi to catch an early morning flight to Florida. Thank you Grandma Hughes, Grandpa Hughes, Emma, Jessica, Tecia, Karen, Grandma Mortensen and who ever else may have helped with our kids. It is nice to know that we have so many people that are willing to help us out and that we trust with our kids.

*** Monday April 11th: Day at Sea ***

We laid out pretty much all day, the guys played basketball and got really sweaty and gross. I was surprised by how good the food on the ship was. The cheesecake was to die for. This night was the Captains Dinner in which we got to get dressed up for. It was a pretty fun first day of the cruise.

*** Tuesday April 12th: Roatan Honduras ***

Roatan was my favorite stop on the cruise, the beach was so pretty and the people were very nice. On our way to the beach we came around the corner and we saw a little boy, I would say 6 or 7 years old scrabbling of the road on his hands and knees, he had been hit by a taxi, our tour guide Korby happened to be training to be a paramedic and went to check him out. The whole time I was thinking about my kids and I almost started to cry. The little boy was fine and all he would say between his tears was "I have to get home, so my mom won't beat me".

*** Wednesday April 13th: Belize City, Belize ***

All of the gang wanted to go Cave tubing in Belize but me being pregnant, I couldn't do any of the excursions (word to the wise, don't go on a cruise when you are pregnant.) So Wendi and Ashton were nice enough to stay behind and hang out with me. I don't think that they were to disappointed because we got some great shopping in and some awesome deals on our new purses.

*** Thursday April 14th: Costa Maya, Mexico ***

Costa Maya had some of the prettiest water I have seen. It was so blue and clear.

*** Friday April 15th: Day at Sea ***

This day we just laid out, watched the boys play in a basketball, and ate alot.
After the show this night they had a Choc-a-holic Buffett. It was pretty tasty especially the chocolate covered bananas!!
We participated in a game show called "The Quest", your team had to do a bunch of quest such as: bring up a pair of false teeth, a man had to come up with 3 bras on him, bring up a pair of keys, bring up a fruit and so on. Well the last quest was a guy from your team had to dress up as a women, the best man/womans team won. It was a fun game and probably I think the funnest night on the ship.

*** Saturday April 16th: Key West Florida ***

The gang wanted to go snorkle on the beach..... well Ashton, Wendi and I must be shopaholics because we stayed behind and did just that.

*** Sunday April 17th: the end of our fantastic vacation ***

We had to be off of our boat by 10:00 a.m. and our flight didn't leave Ft. Lauderdale until 5:00 p.m. so we had a very long day in the airport. To make it even longer our flight was delayed an hour in a half because as soon as we started to board our plan it decided to start raining outside.
I was so excited to see my kids, I felt like a little kid on Christmas morning. I could barely stand it. We arrived back at Wendi and Tims about Midnight and got up very early Monday morning (5:00 a.m.) to head to Sugar City to pick our kiddos up. We hung out with family that day and headed back to Utah Tuesday morning around 6:30 a.m. so Matt could wire a basement. Finally Wednesday around 1:30 p.m. we headed back to Vegas. Now if I could only get back in the swing of things, my house needs cleaned and laundry needs done.

Thank you again for all of you who helped us with our kids. We couldn't have done it with out you.

Brodyns first Baseball game

Brodyn started baseball the middle of March and he has had so much fun learning to play. It was a lot of fun watching him get so excited when we bought him his cleats, glove, and baseball bat. It has been even more fun to watch him interact, learn, grow and explore the sport of baseball.
He had a little bit of field fright his first game. He kept telling us that he couldn't see the bases and that there were to many kids on the field.

After Brodyns game we took the kids to Chucky Cheese's. They could spend hours in that place and I am not complaining, anything beats being out in the hot heat.

To top off a great day, we came home with this beauty. A growing family means a bigger car. It took awhile for me to get us to driving it but so far it has treated us well and we are enjoying the space.

We have been enjoying this nice weather and it is a good thing the weather has been nice because Matt has worked from 5:30 a.m. to 8-9:00 p.m. everyday for the past two week. Lets just say this mother is ready for a break. I found this park that looked fun so the kids and I grabbed some lunch and went to have a fun day at the park. I had no idea that these toys sprayed water out, that is why my boys are in jean shorts. I think this park will probably be a weekly play place.

I always find pictures of Brodyn on my phone like this one. He loves to take pictures of himself and why not he is a handsome one if I might say so myself.
There was a little carnival set up across the street from where we lived, so we went and had a fun night on the rides.
Well most of us anyways. Dredyn hated all of them.

We also are enjoying going to Brodyns baseball practices. Poor Dredyn wishes he could play so bad.
Now that Matt is not working as much, I am hoping to get as much family time in as possible. Hopefully the weather will continue to be nice and we can play at many parks, swim in the pool and enjoy the start of Brodyns baseball season.

Remember how I said this mom needs a break well I am getting one. Only 7 more days till Matt and I leave for our cruise and the time seriously cannot go fast enough.

Matt had some meetings in Florida for a week, so the kids and I packed up and went to Utah for a week to hang out with Wendi and her kids. While Matt and Tim went to the beach, hog hunting, the mall, movies and dinner, I mean went to work meetings ;).... Wendi and I and our kiddos did lots of stuff too.

Even though our kids, okay Jax and Brodyn fought like crazy, it was fun to get away from Vegas for awhile and hang out with family. Thanks Wendi for putting up with us.

We then headed to Idaho for a few days. We got to surprise our families with this: and we feel so blessed and are so excited for this little one to join or family.

What better way to start the day then by having McDonald's breakfast in bed. The boys were so excited to give daddy breakfast in bed. They thought it was pretty cool.

After his yummy breakfast, Matt opened his presents.
He then went and had a nice massage and I was lucky enough to have him go grocery shopping with me and then we had a nice dinner at P.F. Chang's. Of course a birthday wouldn't be a birthday without cake and ice cream.

I hope you had an awesome birthday Matt. You of all people deserve to be spoiled and have a day of relaxation. Thank you for everything you do for our family. We love you so much!!!!

We also have been lucky enough to have Uncle Jason living with us for his past three birthdays. Brodyn and Dredyn love having Uncle Jason in our home. I think when he moves out they will probably go thru with-drawls. We had the opportunity to go to Disney on Ice the other day and it was so entertaining. When they said that it was time for intermission I was shocked because it felt like we had just sat in our seats and the show had just started. Disney on Ice is definitely a show worth seeing.

The Las Vegas Spectacular..... A.K.A the Circus

We have been looking forward to this day ever since we found out that the Circus was coming to Vegas (okay well the boys and I have). Spectacular it was, I thought it would last 2 hours at the most but it lasted 3 1/2 and the kids were so good the whole time. The performers and the animals did such a good job at keeping everyone entertained and laughing. Definitely worth seeing. Matt even said that it was better then what he thought and was glad we went.We went an hour before the show started so that the boys could walk around and see all the animals, maybe even ride on an elephant but they wouldn't even come close to the elephants.
At first this was as close as I could get them.
I along with the boys had to beg Matt to buy these swords for the boys. I am glad he gave in because Brodyn and Dredyn loved them and still do.

After the Circus we went to Chili's. I love that they always have someone there to entertain the kids. This time around they both got basketball hoops.

I have a lot of fun things planed for our little family this year: Disney on Ice, A cruise and still working on Disneyland. The boys are at such a fun age and I love being able to introduce all these fun things to them. I love that I get the chance to see their faces and here about the fun times for weeks on end.

New Years Eve we traveled to Tim and Wendi's house for a little party. We got there about 10:30 p.m. and just hung out. At 11:40 p.m. Matt decided that he needed to go and fuel up so that we could leave for Idaho bright and early the next morning. I told him that he better be back by 11:59 p.m. or he was going to be in big trouble. Lucky for him he made it back and lucky for me I got my New Years Kiss.The gang that we rung in the New Year with (minus Tim who was taking the picture).

Matt found the boys sleeping like this at Grandpa and Grandma's house. I guess they don't get enough fighting in during the day, so they think they need to be on top of each other during the night also.
2010 was a great year for us. We of course had our ups and downs as any family does but through all of our trials we only became stronger and grew closer. We made some great friends while we lived in Layton that we miss alot, even though we miss everyone in Utah and Idaho, Matt and I both know that moving to Las Vegas was what we needed to do and we both feel that Las Vegas is where we need to be and will be for awhile. Insulation Specialists is still up and running and is still doing exceptionally well. Matt and I feel so blessed to be able to be part of a great company that keeps growing and expanding and has had many great opportunities and has many more great opportunities ahead of them. The end of August 2010 we found out that we would be adding baby #3, only to miscarry the end of October, so we are hoping and praying that we can become a family of 5 in the year 2011. We are also hoping to be able to buy another house here shortly and settle down for hopefully longer then a year (please keep your fingers crossed for this one). There are so many things that I want to see happen for our family and friends this year. We are excited to start out 2011 in Las Vegas and we can't wait to see what the year has in store for us.

We started our Christmas Season by going to Bass Pro to sit on Santa's lap. I thought for sure that at least one of our boys would cry but they both did very well and both told Santa that they have been very good this year :)This was the first year that we have built a Gingerbread house. It was a lot of fun but very messy. I am excited to make this a tradition in our home.

Since the weather has gotten cold, I try to come up with indoor activities for the boys to do. I found these ornaments at Wal-mart and the boys had tons of fun painting them and hanging them on the tree.

Brodyn has been into building things lately. Here is one of his many guns that he has built.
While in Utah we went shopping at the mall with Grandma, Wendi and her kids. They had a train giving kids rides around the mall. Of course we couldn't leave with out a train ride.

Brodyn and Dredyn had fun playing in the snow at Jaxs house. We have to get in all the snow playing that we can while in Utah and Idaho. I never thought that I would miss the snow, but I admit that I do.

For Christmas this year we stayed home in Las Vegas. It was nice not having to rush to get from house to house, to let our boys sleep in their own beds and to have our own little family Christmas but we missed our families a lot and are excited to be able to go home to Idaho next year.

I have no idea how the last five years went by so fast, but I still can't grasp the fact that I have a 5 year old. Brodyn you are the best boy any mom and dad could ever ask for. From the very first time that your dad and I laid our eyes on you we knew you were going to do great things and be very special. I will never forget the nurse in the NICU telling me that they thought you weren't going to make it and they had no idea how to tell a new mommy what had happened. I don't know what I would have done if you would have gone back to our Heavenly Father and I still to this day thank him for giving us the opportunity to be your parents and have you in our family. You continually amaze your dad and I by what you say and how smart you are. I love that you always ask me, "are you thinking what I am thinking?", you are an amazing big brother and Dredyn loves to follow you around and do everything that you are doing, he looks up to you and loves you very much. You always know when mommy is having a hard day and your kisses and hugs mean the world to me. You are such a mommas boy and I am sad that you are becoming more of a daddys boy, but I am grateful that you want to hang out with dad more. Your testimony is growing right in front of our eyes and it is such a blessing to see that you enjoy going to church and love to learn about the gospel. You are fun, loving, caring, very energetic, a great artist, your imagination is constantly going, you are very handsome and we are so glad that you are a part of our family. I can't imagine one single day with out you. Your dad, brother and I love you very much. Happy 5th Birthday!!!

Flip 'N' Out

I feel like we never see Matt anymore and we never get to do anything fun as a family. So when Matt got home Monday night I told him (he didn't have a choice) that we were going out as a family and he would have to skip out on Monday night football (mean wife I now). I saw this fun place called Flip 'N' Out and decided that this was the place for our family to have some fun.

This picture was not taken there but it was taken the same day. It's crazy how they can fight and make each other cry and the next minute they are the bests of buds.
This place had the biggest Trampoline I have ever seen. I wasn't even at the other end. It went on forever.

Sisters weekend

Every year my sisters and I have a shopping weekend in Park City. We like to do it the first weekend in November. This year it was only Jessica, Wendi, Tecia and I. Emma had school and Karen had just given birth to a handsome baby boy, so they missed out on the fun and shopping. Don't worry hopefully we can all make it next year.

Wendi had a great idea to get pedicures. It was so nice, but I think next year we will wait until after we shop to have it done.
I had Matt pick me up on our way back from Park City so we could head to Idaho, so I missed out on this picture. Do you think we went a little crazy or what?
It is so much fun to hang out with my sisters. Last year I was the one that they laughed at and this year it was Tecia, so next year we will have to see who is the clown of the bunch. Thanks for making it such a fun weekend. I love you guys.

A few weeks ago we were able to go to Idaho to see our new niece Sadie and to finally hold baby Ledger. It is so fun to have new babies in the family and for my kids to meet their new cousins.

Happy Halloween everybody!!! We had fun celebrating Halloween at our ward trunk-or-treat. We had a delicious dinner of hot dogs and chili, the kids all ran around and got a lot of energy out and then we ended by decorating our car and getting way to much candy from the trunk-or-treat.

Matt took this picture today and when I looked at it I almost started to cry. I can't believe how grown up they both look and how fast time is flying by. Even though I have more hard days then easy days with these two, every night when they are sleeping I stand in their room and am amazed at the gift that I have been given to be their mom. I love them more and more each day. I never knew the love for a child could be so strong. They are my light, life, my everything. I love you Brodyn and Dredyn.

One of my favorite activities for Halloween is carving pumpkins. I remember growing up every Halloween carving pumpkins with the family and it was always so exciting and fun. Matt really got into the carving spirit this year and for those of you who know Matt, he is not a holiday celebration kind of guy. I am so glad that I get to capture and make these memories with my little family.
